Transforming Executive Leadership, Culture, & Investment Strategy

OHUB's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Solutions (DEIS) Certificate Program provided a comprehensive, six-month program designed for founders, executives, and other company leaders who are ready to invest in DEI now. Unlike other DEI programs that focus on implicit bias, the DEIS Certificate focuses on implementing real solutions based on an actionable framework.

The program is supported by affiliated faculty at the Stanford Technology Ventures Program and the Duke Innovation & Entrepreneurship Initiative. Participants learn holistic steps they can take from top to bottom to create lasting equity, which can help increase a company's fortunes.

In addition, OHUB also offers a Black Technology Ecosystem Investors Certificate Program, which is a nine-week, comprehensive training on the tactics, nuances, and strategies required to become a knowledgeable investor in high-growth technology startups and venture funds. This program is uniquely designed for current or aspiring investors who want to look through the lens of racial equity and support Black founders and Black-founded companies with their investment dollars.

THE CHALLENGE

Many companies struggle with implementing effective diversity, equity, and inclusion programs. They may not have the resources, expertise, or understanding necessary to create lasting change. As a result, they risk alienating and burning out their Black and Brown employees, and may also miss out on the benefits of a more diverse and inclusive workplace.

Value Created

The DEIS© Certification program had a significant impact on 45 C-level executives who aimed to enhance the diversity, equity, and inclusivity of their organizations. The program offered a comprehensive framework and actionable strategies to drive positive change across businesses, communities, and affinity groups. It was designed with interactive modules covering various aspects of the DEIS© Framework, and a capstone project allowed learners to apply their knowledge and skills to a real-world scenario. The certification program provided an excellent opportunity for executives committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusivity in their organizations.
